Portfolio 2 Start

 This was my goal for this week per my schedule:

  • The first week I will be blocking out the colors for each prop and getting them into Unreal to test the hand painted style with post processing effects to make sure they display correctly.

I am behind. I am still UV packing. I have been extremely burnt out which has been making it hard to reach my goals.

I have 5 props and the environment walls and floors to UV. I don't have any photos for this week.

I have the post process set up in Unreal for hand painted in an older project and need to move it to my current one.

Portfolio Project 2

 

Project 2 Start 

Schedule

  • The first week I will be blocking out the colors for each prop and getting them into Unreal to test the hand painted style with post processing effects to make sure they display correctly.
  • The second week I will continue to texture the props on the right side of the reference to completion.
  • The third week I will texture the props on the left side of the reference to completion. 
  • The fourth week I will be updating the lighting in Unreal with the finished assets and picking up any final texture tweaks

For the texturing I will be going for the World of Warcraft hand-painted style. I won't be doing the exaggerated proportions of World of Warcraft because I want to keep to the concept art as much as possible, which is posted below.

Portfolio 1 Week 4 End

 

This week is the final week of part one. For this section of the schedule I said I would have all the meshes complete and UVs done. I have two meshes that need to be completed still and there are some props that need to still be UVed and pack. I color coded in Maya the different sets that I believe will all fit together on one UV pack. However I may UV everything and see how it would lay out in a single UV pack to get the correct texel density and then organize everything into split packs.

Sprint #2 Delivery

 For this sprint I completed the auto material we are using for the landscape. I followed this video to get the structure and will be able to add on to this in the future and import it into future projects.

Portfolio 1 3rd Critique

 This project has taken a turn and was needed to be split up into two projects to be able to create a quality portfolio piece. The first four weeks would be straight modeling and UVS. The next for weeks for Project 2 would be for texturing, as I will be doing a World of Warcraft inspired hand-painted stye.The new schedule is as follows:

  • During this past week my goal was to have the props of the right side of the room completed. This was accomplished.
  • During the final week I will be completing the final models from the left side of the room as well as UV unwrapping and packing all props into multiple texture packs. This will be to prep them for texturing.
